While I am not sure I have the answers to these questions, I do want to caution us not to forget the terrible leadership we used to languish under. And on the flip side of things, it can be just as easy to forget the terrific leadership we used to have. Past memories seem to fade as we tend to romanticize history; we think "Maybe that leader wasn't that terrible or that terrific?". But our minds play tricks on us.
So let us be careful not to repeat history's mistakes; we must choose to break the cycle of terrible leadership, then terrific leadership. If for no other reason than it makes me dizzy watching organizations and governments oscillate back and forth. With all kidding aside, it is dangerous to succumb to the folly and deceit of romanticized history.
