This should be quite the wakeup call for recruiters and HR professionals and encouraging to those of us who are Generation Xers. There will be a turnover in management like we haven’t seen for a generation or two that will be an amazing opportunity for us Generation Xers. Then we will have an opportunity to help Millenials transition into management in another 10 plus years after that. So don’t despair the tough job market; there are always two sides to the coin. There is always opportunity, even in the darkest of times, just like there were companies started during the Great Depression. During times of contracted employment in some industries hit hardest by our current economic downturn and expanding employment in other industries that are better at supplying the increasing demand, customers still need to purchase stuff. And it is up to us to seek out the organizations that are growing, all the while building adaptable and transferable skills in case that organization stumbles.
